Return to Malawi
Hey folks,
Thanks to everyone for the fabulous whirlwind break we had in Toronto, Huntsville, Long Island and the Finger Lakes. It was really great to see all of you that we were able to see, and we are sorry that we weren't able to see everyone that we wanted too.
Jim arrived back in Lilongwe on mid August to start school, and I just arrived last week, and we are both back into the full swing of work, and all the idiosyncrasies of living here. As some of you may have heard, Jim was involved in a car accident shortly after he arrived. He is totally fine, and the other driver is on the road to recovery. So thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. As such, we are now looking for a new vehicle, and are survivng by relying on the charity of our friends and the 84$ zellers "sweet ride" bike I brought over.
Once we get sorted and settled, we will try to do a better job keeping in touch. But in the meanwhile, we'd love to hear how you are all doing!
Cheers,
;) tess
Below are some pics of a tasty Malawian roadside snack that my co-workers had on the way to the field. Heck, talk about protein power for 50 cents!
And, a close up shot, so you get a full appreciation of the GMO-free tasty boiled and fire roasted organic field mice! No preservatives, colors or additives!
